Are You Dehydrated? 4 Signs You Probably Are

Give the gift of hydration, health and glowing skin this holiday season.

The holiday season is upon us. It is a time of family, celebration and for many of us indulgence in things that are not a part of our normal routine. Perhaps it’s Christmas Cookies at the office, Alcohol at a Holiday Soiree or a Mocha Frappacino at your local coffee spot. Whatever your vice this holiday season listen to your body and what it is telling you.

1. Feeling lethargic, dull or even exhausted? Do you often have a dull headache or brain fog?
This is a common sign that you could be mildly dehydrated and many people have no idea. Are caffeinated and sugary beverages your go to drink?  These do not count toward the suggested 6-8 glasses of water a day and can in fact be dehydrating. You should drink 2 glasses of water for every 1 glass of caffeinated beverages. Fatigue and trouble concentrating often precede feelings of thirst, do not wait for this to happen start your day with a scoop of Age Quencher HYDRATE electrolyte.

2. Are muscle cramps and spasms waking you at night or does your body feel achy for no reason?
Many studies have shown that muscle spasms and cramping (especially at night) can be a sign that you need electrolytes. We have fluid inside and outside of every cell in our body; cramping, twitching or muscle spasms can be a sign that you need more fluid outside of your cells. However, if you sweat you not only loose fluid you lose salts (which can become a medical emergency). Look for an electrolyte-hydration drink that is sugar free and carbohydrate free to allow for maximum absorption and effect.

3. Are you having at least one BM a day that is the size of a banana and the consistency of toothpaste? This is achievable!
Many people who suffer from constipation are dehydrated. Proper hydration not only allows for better BMs it supports the entire digestive process. When you do not have enough fluid your colon slows down and this results in sluggish elimination. Ensuring that you get enough fiber in your diet is equally as important.

4. Is your skin dry no matter how many creams or serum you apply?
We believe that proper hydration and health come from the inside out. A major sign of dehydration is dry skin. Dehydration is one of the main causes of premature aging of the skin. As you age your skin produces less natural oil, leaving it vulnerable. An electrolyte powder can be a preventative measure and should be considered as part of your daily skin regime. Focus on hyaloronic acid serums that are hydrophilic. This means that they retain water. AQ Intercept holds up to 1000x its weight in water, paired with our HYDRATE electrolyte your skin will glow this holiday season.
